How do I learn VID and PID numbers for my sensor?
Use the following procedure to obtain your sensor VID (Vendor IDentification) and PID (Product IDentification) Number and then use the below table to map that VID and PID to a sensor model.
1) Go Applications > Utilities > System Information
2) In Hardware drop-down select USB
3) In one of the USB Bus there will be
Fingerprint Sensor or
Biometric Coprocessor listed. Click on it
Please use the 6 characters following Product ID and Vendor ID to determine which sensor you have using the table below. In the case of our example - the 4 characters following Product ID are "0x2016" and Vendor ID are "0x147e". That points on Eikon II reader.
